Tristan is just a young girl who should never have had to take on the mantle of protector. But when the previous warrior on the wall fell to a monster, nobody but Tristan was brave enough to pick up his magical belt and spear.
The spirit of that fallen warrior lives on inside the magical belt. He speaks through the lion’s head and trains Tristain.
Of course, on Tristan the belt is way too big so she wears cross-body like a sash.
The story goes like this:
Long ago, a King wisely saw his people were too war-like. He asked a wizard to cast a spell to remove the hatred from the hearts of his people so they could live in peace with their neighboring kingdoms.
The spell worked and the wizard buried all the hate and anger into a nearby mountain where it took root, grew resentful and strong and manifested itself into grotesque beasts.
That’s why they built the wall and started training warriors to stand atop it.
Prophecy states that once Tristan is grown, she will split the mountain in half and kill the evil within it.
